This recession is creating new housing concepts and the manufactured home industry is responding. Baby
boomers are looking seriously at hybrid options in manufactured and modular homes where the construction
standards compare to site-built homes. Between 30% and 40% of new retirees plan to downsize to a smaller
ranch-style home, and half of those plan on moving to a new state.  North and South Carolina top the
preferences of new retirees according to a Del Webb home survey.

Under the Fleetwood brand name, Cavco Inc. is just releasing 2010 floor plans with designer color options.
From 1000 to 2200 sq. ft, there are over 10 home designs that fit your lifestyle. Here are just some of the many
standard features:

•        Energy Saving thermopane Windows
•        Home style 4/12 roof pitch with 20 year shingles
•        All standard appliances including dishwasher
•        2″ Mini blinds throughout
•        Outside security lights
•        4-5 weeks total production time to delivery

The most popular home last year was the Springhill Model with 1260 sq. ft. in a 3 bedroom, 2 bath floor plan.
Once the added value of an enclosed porch or back deck is included, this ranch-style home extends to 1500
sq. ft.

“We interviewed Fleetwood employees and the set-up crews,” said Georgie, “to confirm that they
live in these homes, too. We went through every step and know the ins and out of the process. Chatting with
us is so much more comfortable than talking to a high-pressured salesman!”

And the best news: Savings can range from $40,000 to $100,000, depending on the size and floor plan when
compared to construction of a site-built home. This is a significant savings for today’s retiree.
